The Only Park In Texas
Where You Can See So Many Birds and Butterflies
All In One place.

Castroville’s Regional Park is one of the most unique parks in Texas. It’s not only a premier birding
destination featuring over 160 species of birds it has one of only three butterfly gardens in the state
with 65 species of butterflies sighted there and within the park.
The park has made great strides in attacting birders, and birding groups, from all over not only the
region but the country. Not only is there a dedicated birding trail but over a dozen other nature trails
for viewing. And just recently two birding observation decks have been built for viewing. One overlooks
the Medina River and the other is perched above one of two of the park’s ponds.
